Welcome to cycling-maik! This homepage contains information about my journey along Australia's EastCoast from Melbourne to Cairns by bike. A blog is inclouded.
Please read the complete text!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for your nomination to the IceBucketChallenge, Tommy! I accept it even if it's not the official #ALSicebucketchallenge. Plus this challenge is coming to an end soon. In case of that I did it a bit different. Lot's of people said we would waste so much water for this challenge and the people in poor countries like the african developing countries are without water. They want us to safe the water. But even if we do so, our saved water will not reach those poor people. Imagine, there's NO WAY to transport water on intercontinental ways. And keep in mind that Australia is the driest continent on earth, not Africa. But Africa has the worst freshwater infrastructure. So, we should do anything for or better AGAINST it and help to build an acceptable water supply for this continent. There are lot's of organisations. One of them is called #WasserfuerAfrika. Take a look on their webpage www.wasserfuerafrika.de. They act completely voluntary for five projects in four different african countries. So I donate to them!!!
Go for it, rub or overwhelm your body with dry sand just to get the feeling how dry it can be for someone without water! I chose sand, because it's an element you can find everywhere on earth and nobody could say that you'll waste it. Because after the challenge it's still there where you got it from.
